Principal and Director
Martin Galea – Has worked in the Conveyancing profession since 1984. He has been a fully licensed Conveyancer since the inception of licences in Victoria which were issued in August 2006. Martin holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Conveyancing) at RMIT University; is a Certified Practicing Conveyancer and a full member of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers; is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives (Vic) and is qualified to witness Statutory Declarations & Affidavits in the State of Victoria.
Martin is also currently on the *Council of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (Vic Division) and holds the position of Vice President and sits on the State Taxes Consultative Council.
Martin’s career commenced in 1984, with the law firm of Frank J. Sagaria in Union Road, Ascot Vale. He later in 1986 commenced the business of M.G. Conveyancing Services and opened his first office in Sunshine where he remained until 1997. In 1998 he joined the law firm Swersky & Velos Lawyers in La Trobe Street, Melbourne where he was employed as Senior Conveyancer. The firm transitioned to become the law firm Velos & Davis and thereafter Velos Lawyers during this time where Martin remained in their employ until February 2006. During this eight-year period Martin gained essential experience in acting for a vast array of private and corporate clientele and was availed a great deal of research time, and had the opportunity to attend numerous seminars and workshops, and work under the guidance of and in consultation with an accredited Property Law Specialist. During this time Martin gained a great deal of knowledge and skill in dealing with more complex Conveyancing and Property Law issues.
Martin has particular expertise in dealing with subdivisions, off the plan sales and purchases, commercial Conveyancing including GST and leasing, Owner Builder legislation and obligations, and all types of residential Conveyancing.
Martin has been honoured to be the first ever appointed Statutory Manager by the Director of Consumer Affairs Victoria pursuant to Section 96 of the Conveyancers Act 2006.
Martin is a keen sportsman recently playing Premier Grade and Club Circuit A1 Grade squash. He also coaches Seniors at Essendon Royals Soccer Club.
Martin is most appreciative of the support of his staff and loyalty and custom of his clientele which he has proudly served over many years and continues to remain passionate in his pursuit of Conveyancing excellence.
